Practising Proper Etiquette When Staying In Hotels

When wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life, you do not have to travel very far or spend a lot of money. You can always just book a hotel or resort where you can lie in a comfortable bed, be served with food, and treated like a king. Wherever you go, what is important is that you practise proper etiquette at all times.

If you are staying in a paid accommodation, like a hotel, bed and breakfast, or resort, you should always make sure to respect other people's privacy and need for some peace and quiet. Do not make any unnecessary noise as much as possible. Throw trash in designated bins even with housekeeping staff to do that. Be polite and courteous to hotel staff as much as you can. You will never know if they put anything filthy in your food or linens should you treat them with disrespect. Besides, they are human beings too, they deserve respect the way you do. Give adequate tips to employees for a service done for you. Make sure you do not put your dirty clothes, especially undergarments together with the hotel's beddings, towels, or linens.

One of the most frequented places of a hotel or resort is the pool area. Being in a public area such as this also requires you to be polite and courteous to everyone. For one, follow all the rules set by the hotel management. For example, always shower before dipping yourself in the pool. Make sure to stay in the pool level based on your swimming skills. Whatever you do always keep in mind that people are there to relax as well, so make sure you respect that.
